I can't remember if it was Harvard or Cambridge scholars who figured that out, but I'm pretty sure the percentage was higher than 55%.

I couldn't believe that I could actually understand what I was reading. The power of the human mind, it doesn't matter in what order the letters in a word are. The only important thing is that the first and last letter be in the right place. The rest can be a total mess and you can still read it without a problem. because the human mind does not read every letter by itself, but the word as a whole. amazing huh?
No problem

C'mon, that effort needs to be rewarded.

I think a majority of people can read it. As long as the first and last letter are in the correct place, it can be read, since the mind sees whole words - you don't read letter by letter. =)

It's a simple matter of pattern-matching. Even though the words are messed up, there are enough clues to the actual word to interpret them correctly.
