I met this guy 5 months ago and he told me he really liked me after the first month and a half. Every since then he's been going back and forth with me. I wont hear from him for weeks then he'll pop up, say he's sorry and will want to hang out. When we do hang out, he makes me feel like the center of his world. But he still hasn't hasnt even taken me out on a date. When we go out, its in group settings. So, I guess I'm asking: why would you continue to do these things but at the same time its obvious that your not interested in the person?

He could be one of those guys who likes to have a lot of coals in the fire.....he likes to feel wanted and he knows you have the hots for him so he gives you nibbles to keep you thinkin'. It is a mind game.

I compare this to a slot machine that refuses to pay out but gives me little cherries just often enough to keep me there.

I think he is interested in you. But, also he is interested in other people, too. Maybe he just wants to test out the water and is not seriously looking into dating with "one" person. He can like many people at the same time. So, it's up to you if you want to hang around and wait to see if he wants to date only you. ( wait, you don't say it here, but I think you do like him, right?) My suggestion is you should do the same and don't narrow your option. You may be missing out someone you should be with.

I have gone through this before. Sounds like he likes you, but he can’t stay in one place for too long. Honestly it’s not worth it. If a man is in and out of your life like that he’s just selfish. You, he likes but he’s probably out there searching for something he feels is better. I would move on if I were you.

When this happened to me the best feeling was telling “the guy” that I had found someone else, and I was happy. I didn’t tell the guy to stop calling me but as soon as I told him I found someone who made me happy, he left me alone.

If you like this guy, and want to know if it's going anywhere, you need to talk to him about it...if all he wants is someone to be there so he won't look lonely or whatever, you need to find someone who will make you the center of their world every day...not every few weeks...you deserve better than that

maybe he is interested in you, but wants to "play the field" and keep his options open. This means he sees you when it's convenient, and "easy", but if something else comes up, he goes with that, which just means he's not willing to be exclusive, with you, and maybe with anyone. You can give it more time and see what develops, or move on, if you want someone who's more willing to give you more consistent attention.
