no he picked them because their minds were not polluted by the false teachings in that day and because thay were teachable/meek, unlike most of the scholarly theologians that thought they already knew it all but there education taught them contrary to the truth much like it is today. The mind is the womb of the spirit so they were still undefiled.

no, Jesus picked the 12 Apostles because they were just normal people.

Why do non-believers ask such stupid questions? These men believed He was the Son of God, the Messiah that YHVH had promised them for generations. And Jesus speciality picked 12 to represent the 12 tribes of Israel. Learn some biblical history instead of sounding like an idiot. It's well worth it.

That was his point! Although I would use the term sinners over the word loser. He picked people who were just like you and I. Sinners struggling with life and their choices. God loves all of us no matter what. We follow God in our humility recognizing that we are not perfect and that we do not have all of the answers. Thank you for making a very valid Christian point-even if you didn't mean to.

Actually there were over a hundred apostles, but then they eventually left because they went back to their pleasures....

These twelve were the only ones that held true...

Actually, yes. IF you look at the people who Jesus chose to spread His word they aren't the most desirable bunch. A freakin tax collector? Those people were a notch above a prostitute back then. But it also shows how we can all be cleansed and changed by Jesus and He does not judge.

The people are important, don't miss that point.

please explain why you believe they were losers, and i will be glad to debate the issue.

if the 11 apostales were losers, they wouldn't have done what they did. they traveled all over europe, asia, and africa. they were persecuted. everyone one of them except 2 were killed by governments and such. i call that perserverence.. i bet you a billion dollars you wouldn't do all what they did.

the only apostale that's a loser is judas, as he betrayed Jesus. but the other 11 were great people.

if only atheists knew how much these 11 people really did...

What ever gave you the idea they were losers? They were just like you and me. They worked, had families, worshiped God, and did all the other things normal people do. Losers, no! They became better people by having a close walk with Christ, also just like us.

Don't be silly,Jesus knew them since before they were born. Just the same way he knows you. even the very number of hairs on your head. Just like he knew the greedy tax collector Zacchaeus when he called to him from the sycamore tree he climbed up to get a better look at Jesus
and Jesus told him Zaccheaus I knew you before you were born.
