I recently switched shampoos to a daily clarifying and started washing it only every other day. It's now very dry but if I go any longer between washigns it makes me crazy, not because it gets oily but becasue it just gets too dirty and I can't stand it. I think mayeb a good deep conditioning might help it, but no idea what to look for. Any ideas or advice?

First of all, the clarifyier is the culprit. Using it every day is not a good idea, esp. if your hair is turning dry. Twice a week tops. Used a vinegar rinse after a DAILY Shampoo (non clarifying) two times a week in addition to the clarifying. And invest in a salon brand as you will notice a huge difference ! \\\

Vinegar rinse

1/2 c. vinegar
1 - 1/2 c. warm water

shampoo and distribute vinegar rinse to hair. squeeze out excess and rinse with cool to lukewarm water.

Shampoos for oily hair can actually cause the hair to excrete more oil because the scalp gets dry and decides it needs to remoisturize it self so steer clear unless you use a salon brand and only once a week.

As for deep conditioners. NO. Too oily for your scalp. I would suggest a leave in such as matrix essentials 'instacure'. Matrix essentials also has a good clarifyer on the same web page. Good luck.

You should use a clarifier only about once a week. Any more then that, and you strip hair of natural oils. Use a regular shampoo most of the time, and only clarify once a week. A good deep conditioner is good for anyone. I like using stuff called cholesterol. I know, sounds gross, and it feels even grosser, but it works!! It comes a jar that reminds me of mayo or miracle whip. You can get it at any beauty supply store, and the best way to do it is to wash your hair, then while it's wet, put it on really thick, make sure you get the ends really well and that all the hair is coated. I use gloves when I put it on usually, unless my skin is really dry- it does have multiple functions ;) ! Then take a bag, (make sure the paint is on the outside of the bag!!!!) and put that over all your hair. Use either a normal hair dryer, or sit in steam from the shower for a few minutes- up to 15 is fine. Then get back in the shower and wash it out. Usually, you have to shampoo it out, because it is so thick and really sticks. Just use a regular, non-drying shampoo. Then comb through. You probably won't need regular condition after this, unless you have really long hair, and it tangles easily. This is the best I have found!!!!

Real mayonnaise will work.Wash your hair and apply no conditioner the apply over damp hair enough to saturate from scalp to ends.Cover with plastic wrap or a plastic cap overnight. If you have a bonnet dryer leave on for 30 minute on medium heat then wash out and apply conditioner. You will need to do this 2x's a week for 1 month. It doesn't work miracles over night. What it will do is bring back elasticity to your hair then your shampoos and conditioners will do what they are supposed to do.Once you lose elasticity it is hard to make any hair product work. What is in mayo...eggs,vinegar and oil.Women have been using these ingredients for many many many years as beauty products.

reckoning on the dimensions of your hair, practice about a million/2 cup of mayonnaise on your dry hair. artwork into hair extremely nicely and then conceal your hair with a plastic bag, allowing to set for about 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and then shampoo as frequent. wish I Helped!

I use Pantene Pro-V Deep Conditioning and it works well. My hair is medium length, fine and a little frizzy. If you use another Pantene shampoo it supposedly helps more. I buy mine at Target. Good luck :)
