Until quite recently the grail was taken to mean the cup Jesus passed at the Last Supper. My guess is, after the guys left the Upper Room and headed for Gethsemane, the house servants or the wife or whoever, climbed the stairs, cleared the table, carried the dishes downstairs, washed them up, and put them away.
The rest is just fantasy and fiction.
God bless you!

"where" is it?
I'm not sure it really exists!
The meaning behind it makes for a very interesting story, but, like the history of Jesus, concrete information is lacking.
