When your teeth break up those relatively hard foods (as opposed to softer foods like a banana), vibrations are created. These travel through the bones of your head to your ear, where you hear them as an internal "crunch" in your head.

The teeth that you are eating with are themselves set to vibrate as you eat. The teeth are connected to the skull, and the vibrations go through your skull directly to your inner ear where your eardrum vibrates and thus the sound becomes "audible". This operates on the same principle as a tin can telephone.
