Schipol hands down!
it is like a giant shopping mall/ food court/casino(if you're interested) and you could easily pass 2-4 hours there. I could seriously spend a day there and not see the whole airport. It is nicely laid out and the restaurants are good.
There is this one restaurant that serves a killer mozarella/pesto/tomato sandwhich right before you enter the international terminal I think. I cant remember the name though. =/ and they have tons and tons of shops.
The Schipol airport is clean, and while parts of it smell like cigarette smoke, what European airport doesn't? I seem to remember that they even have an observation deck, but we never figured out how to access it.
Anyway. The Schipol airport has alot more to do than the Heathrow airport, so i would go with Schipol. Plus. KLM has great service. We've flown with them a number of times and had great experiences every time. =]

I would go with Schiphol Airport for the mere fact that Heathrow is WAY too overcrowded. Heathrow is a little nicer inside but if you're only going to be there a short while, you might as well enjoy your time peacefully, away from the mass of angry blokes.

Schiphol Airport is cleaner, more efficient, less congested and far more interesting than Heathrow, which is chaotic to say the least.
Schiphol has an excellent shopping area and even a Casino if you're so inclined.

Schiphol is much better because the terminals are close together and you dont need to get on a bus to transfer planes. In Heathrow you walk for miles to get to the bus and then need to go through security, verify your ticket then walk for miles to get to your gate. And if you get to your gate early you wait in the hallway with no seats. Stick with Schiphol

Amsterdam, absolutely. It's a much better airport, so I'd go with KLM. They're also a better airline.

I would go with Schipol as Heathrow now has a really outrageous tax assessed on tickets. Schipol is also a lot less congested and noisy.
