I've noticed in about the past month my short term memory has gotten abysmal. I constantly am going into another room to look for something, and before I get in there I forgot why I went. Or I'll get on the computer to look something up, but before Google comes up i'll have no clue what I was just going to look for.

The loss happens in just seconds, and has been increasing in frequency to where now it happens about 20-30 times a day. Before this, it would happen occasionally, but now its getting to the point I am getting worried. Any thoughts?

I am 23 and female.

It could be a wide varriety of things however it is most likely jsut stress. Stress can have huge physical and mental effects on the body. It's easier said then done but pacing yourself, writting the big stuff down, focusing on one task at a time, get 8 hours of sleep at night, and making sure you have at least 1 hour of alone relaxation time a day is important.

Its likely a simple vitamin deficiency. Try a good quality liquid vitamin. Tablet and capsule forms are often undigested. Liquid goes straight to work. I highly recommend Buried Treasure brand, which you can get at a health food store. Its about 24 dollars a bottle, but well worth it. They have a great choice of products-from womens, mens, childrens, stress b vitamins, etc. Country life liquid multi is a good choice too-also from the health food store. Take double the recommended dose (split it-once morning, once at night) for a week or two. I would expect you will see improvement quickly. I had issues like yours when I switched to a vegetarian diet. It cleared right up with the vitamins

alzheimers has these symptoms,, but this is only in old people, this is preventable by keeping the brain active such as a crossword or sudoku puzzle once a day, you'll soon see an improvement. Playing specific memory games will help a lot.

Increasing short term memory loss can be attributed to an excessive intake of weed. Smoking large amounts of weed seems to have an adverse affect on short term memory. This will sometimes manefest itself in the symptoms you describe or it can cause a person to repeat themself over and over. This will sometimes manefest itself in the symptoms you describe or it can cause a person to repeat themself over and over. This will sometimes manefest itself in the symptoms you describe or it can cause a person to repeat themself over and over. Anyway, what was the question? Oh! Yeah! Weed Thats right, smoking lots and lots of weed can cause things to happen or something like that. Maybe your answer is in your last sentence.

at 23, I'd say it's stress related.
I'm 48 and it's becoming an issue for me as well. As an office administrator, I've learned to write notes, lots of them, and to rely on others to remind me of appoinments and stuff. In me, I know it's stress related.
I think it can be overcome by simply cutting back on things you are filling your life with - beginning with that which is really not necessary.

Could be many things. Hormone imbalance, lack of sleep, etc. What is your caffeine intake like? More than 100mg has shown to hinder brain function and over stimulate the limbic system.

There are many reasons why this could happen, including stress, or lack of productive sleep. Also, I find that puzzles help with mental alertness. You can check out crosswords, or sudoku, etc.

Hope you feel better soon. :)

At your age, would definitely get some medical ideas,
assume it could be some chemical imbalance or possibly
a tumor -- regardless, you have some tweaking that needs doing

Luck and best to ya
