It's not a sin researching and talking about "ghosts" or other strange things. Truth is always something that must be researched.

Biblically, the Bible warns against communication with the dead, which is sin Biblically.

HERE ARE TWO BIG BIBLICAL REASONS GHOSTS EXIST:
1. Samuel, and not something pretending to be Samuel, is called back from the dead at Saul's request to the medium. (Note- Saul sinned by doing this communication...but nonetheless, Samuel did return).
2. Jesus' disciples and Jesus apparently believed in ghosts and spirits and DID NOT call them demons...
Jesus is out walking at night on the water. The disciples see him and are terrified thinking he is some spirit (ghost). Jesus however, corrects them stating it is him in the flesh and not a ghost...personally, I think on the water, Jesus would have informed the truth to the disciples of his if they had been mistaken in believing in spirits...

Regarding pictures of ghosts, etc.
1. It is quite possible to alter images, especially now with computer imaging being so advanced. Some people do get a kick out of doing this. Also lighting effects make things look like ghosts that are not, both to the human eye and cameras.
2. Not all images are altered--some are real, but these are not that common.
3. It's pretty slim odds to see a ghost for many people, let alone get good picture of one.

There is still the outside shot that you are not seeing a ghost but an evil spirit or other fallen being. Demons are also spritual entities, and they are full of lies and deception.

Communication of any type with the dead is sin (and can even be dangerous in numerous ways).

I myself have never seen a ghost. However, I have seen angels and fallen beings, though not commonly.

I have heard a number of ghost stories, one by my great grandmother who saw a little girl in her house (she lived alone) that would vanish soon after she was noticed...

The Bible is quite clear that there is no communication between the living and the dead. Anything that appears to be a ghost is either a figment of the imagination or a demonic spirit trying to misdirect someone. And yes, it is a sin to involve yourself in these matters. Our faith should be in God alone. Every answer to every question can be found in the Bible. Start there to find the answers you seek.
The Bible says, "the be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." It really can't be more clear. When you die, you are immediately in Heaven with God or eternally separated from Him in Hell. You have this "vapor" of a life to decide where you want to be.

I've seen a few ghosts in my time, especially when I was really young- I used to see my mother's first husband before I ever knew he'd existed. I'd brought the subject up in class one day (I was probably about 8 at the time, and going to a Catholic school), and nobody ever said anything bad about it except asking if I was sure it wasn't my imagination...and I was sure. One day, I got so scared (from not knowing who he was), I asked him to leave & he did, thus the assumption that it wasn't a "demon" assuming the form of someone looking over me. When I'd gotten a lil older, I described to my mom the man I'd seen, and she said it fit the description of her first husband who had killed himself because they were unable to conceive; which is probably why he would show himself to me & no one else. Though, my mom did say she believed in ghosts, but I never had the chance to find out why...

Ghosts do not exist, anything involving sitings or other abnormalties involving the supernatural is the work of demons. Ghosts, which people claim is the spirit of dead persons cannot exist because God's written word tells us that people who die no longer exist, Ecclesiastes 9:5,10. Getting involved with so called ghosts and other supernatural phenomenon is getting involved with demons which God says not to do. Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:11, Isaiah 8:19.

I think they are evil demonic spirits who take on the form of someone or something just to suck you into believing.

If you knew the Scriptures, you wouldn't even entertain them.

The dead do not come back to this 3-D world that we live in while alive.

Ghosts of people who have died do not inhabit the earth. People who have died are no longer here. They are in a different place.

Satan and demons are here to lie and try to get people to believe that they are the dead people who some would like to see. Don't believe them.

first off it ain't a sin looking into research about ghost sightings and one reason why ghosts still roam the earth is because of tragic early deaths
