talk to her

Some cats meow, some cats don't. You really can't make them do something they don't want to.

I have two cats - one is a talker, the other is not. The talker and I will go back and forth meowing all the time. She's quite loud too, it's funny. She also likes to "talk" to the birds and other animals when looking out the back window.

The male cat, well, he's not so much. He'll meow when he's carrying around a toy in his mouth, when he's looking for the other cat, or when he wants to jump in my lap at the computer. And when he does meow, it's nowhere near as loud as the female and is more of a squeek. I don't think I could get him to meow on cue like the female does.

My hair is pretty long and i found out that when I lean down to pet her and my hair gets in her face she meows. Sometimes if my cat meows at me I'll try and mimic her and meow right back then she'll meow again. Sometimes she'll meow when I call her name or if I ask her a question like " How was your day " when I got home from school. She'll get talkative when I'm holding her food bowl up and filling it for her... sometimes even putting your head down to their level and they'll give you a little head butt as a sign of affection.

If you talk to your cat it may or may not answer. It depends on whether it wants to talk! My cat talks to me when she has been alone for a while, like when I come home from work, or on Sunday when we are home more and she is happy. Not all cats talk to their owners using their voice. I read a recent study that demonstrated that when your cat stares at you closing its eyes slowly it is saying "I love you" and would like you to reply. My cat was thrilled when we finally did. It takes so long to train an owner...

Aww thats sweet!

honey, don't give up, all you have to do is talk to your cat, either talk to it like a person half of the time and talk to it in meows or meow-meows the other half of the time.
Sooner or later it will figure out that you want it to talk back to you.

Meow at your cat. Then kitty will meow back. It's fun. My cat and I go back and forth every morning.

i got my cat to talk back by meowing at her. and talking simple things to her like if she wanted food (she would meow) or wanted water from the sink. Just meow when she/he meows and they might respond. and if they meow after you mimic them keep doing it and they will always talk to you!
