Hi everyone.

I am soon to be travelling abroad. I have been told that you can use a nationwide account abroad for all foreign money without being charged any fees.

I have a Nationwide Flex Account which is a Cash Card Account. It is the most basic account. I can only withdraw money from atms with this card from any atm that has the Link symbol on it. My card has the Link symbol and Cirrus symbol on the back.

I was wondering if anyone has the same or similar card from Nationwide and has experience of using it abroad in any country. I am particularly interested in Paris, Egypt and Thailand.

I would appreciate any info from anyone.

Thanks everyone.

I opened my Nationwide account about four years ago for the same reason. When I used it in Thailand I got a far better deal on my card than I expected. And I didn't have any charges put on. Unlike mbna who charge all they can.
The thing I like most about Nationwide is they don't keep trying to lend money out, again unlike mbna, who fill my bin so have stopped using them.

Thailand is a fantastic place, don't make the same mistake as I did. I went in all new clothes and should have brought them out there, for a fraction of the price. We stayed at the Asia Hotel out of Bangkok, great place, visit their markets they are so large and don't forget to haggle it is the done thing out their.

Goodluck
