sorry to pop onto your question without giving you an answer but i'm mad at NEW MR GREEN...

HOW DARE YOU? how dare you act as if you are speaking for our Lord. He would never speak in such a FOUL manner to any of His children. He loves them regardless if they have tats or not. you should be ASHAMED of yourself. it's twisted people like you who give us Christians a bad name. you're warped. and to tell somene they are going to Hell isn't exactly Christianly. you better be asking for forgiveness buddy, cuz you have no right to judge others. only our Savior does. and if you hate tats so much you shouldn't be in the "TATTOO" section of Yahoo. you're causing trouble... that would be "THE DEVIL IN YOU", SIR. "he who cast the first stone" now go stand in the corner... i think you have some soul saving pondering to do.

I know your not supposed to tattoo names on your body but when it comes to your own child ... it shouldnt matter ... dont let anyone tell you other wise. Your child is your child that will never change. I have always loved my friends tattoo ... He has both his daughters names Gina and Jessica made into an arm band with little pictures hidden in it ... like a Hawaiian flower and dalphines and other things ... I have a butterfly on my calf and when i have children i am gonna put their names in the wings!! just a couple of ideas for yea.

Try to incorporate something of your son into the tattoo - maybe find a sample of your son's writing so that your tattoo artist can design the piece with your son's handwriting.

It is supposed to be bad luck to tattoo a living person's name on you. I guess it is superstition, but it's a very old and common superstition. Many reputable tattoo artists will not even do it. It is okay if it's a memorial to a dead person. You might want to talk to some more people, and your tattoo artist for suggestions.

I have two boys. I had their names done in a modified old english down the backs of my arms. I also included their zodiac signs and one Japanese Kanji for each that meant something to me about them. just an idea....

what's with these Holy Rollers hanging out in the tattoo section talking about tattoos are evil and we're all gonna burn? you dudes seriously need to get a life. leave ours alone. you don't like tattoos, don't get one. simple as that.

Have you decided on your artist yet? If not this is a perfect time to get to know some shops in your area, review some portfolios and ask some questions and get some ideas. You will want to review portfolios before you select your artist anyways.

Since it is something that means so much to you, I would suggest somewhere YOU can see it easily..like your wrist if that is possible.

If you want to keep it small, get it on your left wrist. I chose the left wrist because there is a vain that goes straight from your hand to your heart. That is why wedding rings are worn on the left ring finger too. If you want it big, maybe right where your neck and beck meet. My sister-in-law has her husbands and childrens initials there in colored ink and it looks great. As for the first guy who answered your question, he seriously needs some help.

honestly, the idea is sweet but You should Not get any name on your body. If you are set on getting his name try a design that doesn't look like his name when you glance. Something that plays with your eyes

I have nothing against tattoos. I have some of my own. However, I don't think parents should get their kids names (unless you know you're only going to have one/maybe two). It wouldn't be fair if you had 3 children and only had 2 names tatted on you. Then, if you have 5 kids and 5 names that just plain ghetto!

find a reputable tattoo shop online (if they have a website they're probably more serious about their business), and ask them to help design it.
