Are you going to be able to afford the expenses if you get the puppy? Vet visits and food for its whole life. Think about it. If you are really sure you can afford to properly care for another living thing, try going to a shelter and adopting one, it'll be cheaper than buying one.

Let your neighbors know that you are willing to do yard work, etc. But realize that owning a dog costs alot more than actually purchasing one. You need to factor in vet bills, food, supplies like leashes, etc., licensing fees, grooming and, if you are getting a puppy, carpet cleaner, shoes that will be eaten ... the list goes on. Maybe a good way to earn money is to ask your neighbors if they need a dog walker. That can also give you an idea of what dog ownership is like, since you'll be doing that a whole lot at all times of the day and night, if you get a puppy

Awww... I can understand that you need good money to buy a dog and with your pocket money you can't save up, but I do have a solution for you if you consider it:
Well there are lots of scams there and I did try out many "paid programs" and ended up getting scammed. I got so angry that I left looking for any more opportunities. Then I came across people saying that they are getting paid for online programs and once again I started researching and I am happy to say that I have earned $19.09 from http://www.mylot.com/?ref=vampirestonez. It is a legit site and I can guarantee it because I have gotten paid from that and if you wish you can ask me for more details. It is very easy to use as it, it is a forum like Yahoo Answers but unlike Yahoo Answers you get paid for asking and answering questions! Yes, it may sound too good to be true but I can only say that try it, you have nothing to lose and I am sure you will thank me for this.
But if you do register at that site then you will also need to have an E-gold account because all your payments will be transferred there and then there are number of option to get the payments like check, money order, bank wire, western union etc. To register for E-gold please visit http://www.e-gold.com/e-gold.asp?cid=3956994.
I had been using Yahoo Answers for a long time as you can see my level but I now use it very rarely because as you may know that the more traffic to a site, the more the site earns. Yahoo Answers earns a lot but does not share anything with it's users as for myLot, they do! If you have any questions just leave me a message here or on myLot and I will personally try my level best to guide you to the way to getting some decent income.
Hope you get a cool dog soon and if you get your friends to join, you can earn a lot of money because there are some people that are earning more than $100 per month.
But for that, you will have to work hard there :)

well you could get a job but depending on your age that could be difficult....
here are some ideas-
1. Mow lawns, I mean people hate doing it so they will pay you tons.
2. Shovel driveways.
3. Rake leaves.
4. You could be a dog sitter. This is perfect because people pay lots of money for you to watch their dogs. Even if it is only for an afternoon, its cash. Also, this will help you learn about dogs (I only assumed you don't already have one.) and how to care for one. You could post flyers at vet offices in your town. I bet you could get tons of business by doing this.
5. Paper routes.
6. Babysit (I know your a guy but hey its cash)
7.Try getting a job at a library, senior center....
8. Sweep the floor at your school everyday! I am sure you could get your school to pay you for something.
9. Get a job at a mobile home park, mowing lawns their.
10. Become a mascot! That's what I am doing, I am a tire named Slick. I get $30 every weekend I do it.
Hope some of these help you.
P.S. Post in a newspaper that you want to get an odd job, someone will reply.
Good luck!

I would wait if I were you, how are you gonna be a responsible pet owner without money. Even if you got the dog for free, you still have to fix it, buy it food, get it its shots and take it to the vet for regular check-ups, this all cost money.

ask your parents for odd jobs to do. Act responsible and maybe they will buy it for you and help you with the bills. Do you get an allowance?

I would suggest volenteering to help out at your local animal shelter in return for them foregoing any adoption fee.It will also help you understand how to care for pets .
