A car is only as good as you take care of it. People who automatically say foreign cars are better don't know much about cars. In fact, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Toyota sold 2.26 million vehicles in 2005, yet recalled 2.38 million. You do the math.
If you buy a car, whether it be a Honda or a Ford and neglect it, the car will deteriorate either way. Vehicle Reliability comes from great maintenance and not from a specific manufacturer. Good luck.

ideal: a million. Mercedes-Benz (all round large vehicles) 2. Alfa Romeo (no longer the most good, yet only seem at them) 3. BMW (purely reason they're no longer second is because the single popping out of California do only not stay as a lot because the German made ones) 4. Subaru (STI) 5. Fiat Worst: Chevrolet (boring, affordably slapped mutually, no longer some thing particular about them) Pontiac Peugeot Linkoln Chrysler

I owned a Honda and Acura and really liked them- currently I have a Nissan Maxima (2005) and it's an awesome car. Usually the cheaper (price wise) cars are also cheaper quality (you get what you pay for) so stay away from cars like Kia, Saturn and Hyunday- unless you like having your car in service most of the time (friend's husband used to work for Kia service dept and said that people had to wait 2 weeks for appt., they were so busy with repairs.) Not lately. Actually not since the 60's and early 70's.
Honda's are GREAT!
I own a 92 honda prelude and it is still a champ and its great not ever having to make payments.

Best American Car would be Chevy and Ford believe it or not they are actually starting to build quality cars. worst American I think is Jeep and GMC. Other cars I would say New Saturn's are pretty good, not the old ones and also Volvo and VW.

Fords are good. The Fusion is a really nice car. They are coming out with the new 2008 Taurus this summer. It looks cool too. I'd stay away for GM products.

Yes-there are...
Volkswagens are good, as are Dodge's.
Ford makes a luxury line called Mercury and that is pretty good too.
In addition, Saturns are still gaining popularity.
Hope this helps.

Imports unfortunately for the United States, are far superior to the cars made here. Bad cars are Hyundai's, Kia's. You listed the main good brands.

I like Volvo's. They're still pretty reliable. I don't really trust the new brands like KIA, or Mitsubishi.

subaru's have stood on their own by shear reputation. With very little advertising. Think about that.
