i'm doing this project were i have to create an invention. my invention includes using platic.
does anyone know of a name or a type of plastic that is transparent, light, and strong

Polycarbonate is a clear, very strong and impact resistant. Sold under the trade name of Lexan.
It can also be impregnated w/ various percentages of glass fiber which will reduce its transparency but increase its strength.

A class of material called polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) meets your specifications. You find these things called under tradenames like Plexiglass and Lucite.
If you want something even stronger but more expensive, look for Lexan.

plexiglass- it is very strong- they can make windows out of it and it is a type of plastic
