yes....if you're under a lot of stress sometimes your brain will tell your body to express that stress through a physical ailment (like a headache, sore limbs, etc.)...it's called somatoform disorder. but the brain does regulate everything we feel and how we deal with every day occurances

Sure. Serotonin is a chemical in the brain. It floats around but if it's absorbed too easily by the brain cells, the person becomes depressed. That's why Paxil, Cymbalta, etc. are called Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors. Those meds prevent serotonin from being re-absorbed. Then there is conditioning - for example if a person had a bad experience in a certain situation, their brain remembers that and goes into defensive mode next time the same situation arises. That is anxiety. There is so much about the brain we don't know. Once more is learned, more mental illnesses can be solved.

Yes. I am on medication for the rest of my life for severe generalized anxiety disorder. My brain would never slow down - to the point that I'd have panic attacks and major insomnia. I went 4 days & nights with no sleep at all. It annoyed me so much when people who did not understand would tell me to "just relax". Sometimes, stress and such are caused by outside sources like your job and family. Other times, there is no environmental cause at all - it is simply an imbalance within your brain. My doctor likened it to a person with diabetes. They have to take insulin to balance themselves out. This is the same thing - just in a different part of your body.

Yes, of course. Your brain has EVERYTHING to do with these things. Where else would emotional and mental stress and anxiety occur if not at the source: the brain?

Yes it is a chemical imbalance in your brain. I have suffered from depression and anxiety most of my life. There are medications that help, but nothing I know of will completely fix the problem.

Ya think?
Your brain controls it all. That flush, that rush, it all starts in your head.
Yeah, you feel it in your heart but it's all coming from your noggin.
