Many times the cats will return, especially if they know they will be feed. It would be best if you find a 'no-kill' shelter...if at all possible.

Can call your local shelter and get a bunch of traps. They can help you do this. If they are healthy they can be placed with a family into a new home. Leaving them off somewhere else is not the answer. They need to be spayed/neutered so this stops happening. It isn't health for so many animals to be like that without vaccinations either. Can transmit any disease where ever they go. Calling the human society is far better then doing what you are doing. Basically you are putting the problem onto someone else. Under your house, is up to you to do the right thing. If you are caring for these animals then get them all out of there and into some place where they can get the treatment they deserve. Live trapping is good, but let your shelter take them. They are equipped to handle situations like this.

I know it costs money, but neutering and spaying is the key--some vets will give you a discount if you have multiple cats. Also, as everyone else has said, find a no-kill shelter--they will take some of your cats.
We took two cats we didn't want about 5 miles away and several months later they came back....so no, that won't work.
We try to neuter spay all our cats, and we have the tame ones done, but the wild ones won't go in the trap (only the tame ones think it's fun), so we are in a pickle with that!

do an internet search for no kill shelters in your area. They will give you further advice about what to do. By letting them out in another town, you are just keeping the cats stray. And they may come back, because they know there is food at your home. The best thing to do is to find an agency that will agree not to kill them, and it will solve the kitty issue at your home.
p.s.I think some of the people who answered above me were rude and I apologize on their behalf for their condescending remarks. It's a good thing to not want to have the animals killed- but at the same time, I wouldn't want 15 of any kind of animal living under my house:)

Well it might take more than a few days, but cats "home" in pretty good. So unless something happens to the cat it should be back.
And I think maybe instead of adding to that small towns stray cat population you get those cats to a shelter. Honestly, don;t send your stray problem to someone else.

its possible but you can always take them to the ASPCA..they don't kill the animal. You run the risk of them getting killed by a car that way. Other cats in the area will come too because of the smell. How do you know that some of those cats aren't local cats that belong to someone....aha..didn't think of that huh?

I dunno if thats true, but if I were you, I would look online to see if there are any local animal rescue organizations who do not euthanize that can help you. Most cities & towns have rescue groups for cats & dogs.
A useful resource to find a group might be www.petfinder.com, I think you can go on there to serach in your area for rescue groups. You might have to input a zip code & what kind of animal you are "looking for" since it is a pet finding website, but once you put in what type of cats they are, rescue group sites will come back & click on the links to go to their main site. Also, you may want to try a local pet store to see if they work with any rescue groups they can put you incontact with. Good luck!

If you don't want them, your best bet is to take them to the ASPCA, or other no-kill shelter. You didn't do them a favor by taking them so far away that their trip "home" is likely to kill them. You're either a hypocrite or you have no sense at all.
