how do you say, "hello" and "hey, how are you?" in German?

THANK YOU! Oh... that reminds me... how do you also say, "thank you" in German?

Could u do that parenthises thing so that i can know how to pronounce it... thanx!

ALSO HOW DO YOU SAY "GOOD BYE"?

Hey how are you? - Hey, wie geht es dir? Or Wie geht es Ihnen? (formal)
I am fine, thanks. - Mir geht es gut, danke.

You are welcome - Bitte schön.

Bye - Auf Wiedersehen. Or Tschüss.

Hello: There are a number of ways to say hello, the simplest is Guten Tag ( pr: Gootan Tog). Literally means good morning but is an acceptable greeting.

Thank you: Danke shoin (pr: Donka shane)
Your welcome: Bitte shoin (pr: Bit-a shane)

Note: Actually spellings may differ, including the fact there are no umlets over cetain letters.
