Me. Whew. And let me tell you that was hard work.
Actually chocolate is given credit to the Mayans or Incas or Aztecs (I never can keep them straight). Of course it was bitter back then and they drank it. If I remember correctly it was considered very powerful and an aphrodisiac.
Ice cream I believe goes to Rome. With Nero sending people out to the mountain to get him snow(ice) and mixing it with fruit and it evolved from there, I'm not sure when the whole adding milk and getting it as we know it today comes from. Although it is given credit to China
I'm too lazy to search it right now, I'm sure someone will post it though.

Chocolate was created by the Mesoamerican civilization, from cacao beans, and cultivated by pre-Columbian civilizations such as the Maya and Aztec, who used it as a basic component in a variety of sauces and beverages. The cocoa beans were ground and mixed with water to produce a variety of beverages, both sweet and bitter, which were reserved for only the highest noblemen and clerics of the Mesoamerican world.
Ice cream was introduced to the United States by colonists who brought their ice cream recipes with them. Confectioners, many of whom were Europeans, sold ice cream at their shops in New York and other cities during the colonial era. Ben Franklin, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson were known to have regularly eaten and served ice cream. Dolley Madison is also closely associated with the early history of ice cream in the United States.

The Atzecs and the Myans are credited for chocolate (used it for drinks mainly).
The Greeks were credited for the creation of ice cream (honey and fruit flavoured snow cones that you could buy in Athenian markets during the 5th century BC). The Romans (specifically Nero) adopted the Greek traditions with a special twist; they added fruit and other toppings.

Aztec and Mayans used chocolate as money....until the Europeans came and took it...the Europeans were the first to add sugar...They say Chris Columbus loved chocolate but never had it with sugar because he died before they figured that out.
