I'm enrolled in law enforcement and in order to pass my class i have to complete 24 hours of ride-alongs. My problem is not one police department will let me ride-along for more than 2 hours at a time... any ideas what to do?

Tell the agency why you're going on the ride along. Ask to talk to the duty SGT that will be scheduling the ride along and tell him your story. They'll probably let you ride for longer shifts.

Go to the department and arrange the ride along. Every department has their own rules for the process and you may have to ride for an hour at a time. In my city, you can only ride from 6pm to 11:30pm (department policy)

yupp thats why they do that because you need to ride with different departments which means you'll have to do this 12 times in order to complete the class..this way you'll have plenty of different way's of training with people. its like when you first start to drive you need to complete plenty of time driving before a license but you cant drive it all at once

Silly question, are you in the US? Shame if you are cos I'm a UK cop and I'd have helped you out.

Failing that looks like you'll have to bide your time and just do a bit each day.

PS Whats the difference between law enforcement and police officer?

Then you have to do it for 12 days.
