Approximately how many seconds faster can the average person run a 5k per pound of bodyweight lost, ceritus paribus??

Ran a 21:32 on a hilly course about a month ago. Looking to crack 20 at next week's race. I dropped from 200lbs to 195lbs.

In case no one noticed. My previous 5k was on a hilly course. This one will be flat. In addition there will be 1/3 the participants so I won't a superslow start and I won't have to run a slow curvy first mile dodging past other runners.

I can chew 30-45 seconds off the first mile easy. The lack of hills can help with another 30 seconds.

Hence about 20:30 is my realistic goal, but I have been training hard and have lost 5 pounds in the last few weeks which could help another 10-20 seconds.

Weight is important, but I don't think losing 5 pounds is going to give you any significant improvement. Keep training and losing weight. Going from 21:32 to under 20:00 is a lot of time and it probably won't come fast.

Anything, with adequate vigor inside precept, you'll get something relocating to only underneath the velocity of sunshine. Although, I'll bypass gravity, and gravitons seeing that in some way that's dishonest and say electric lightening. Although, technically mild might be the moment quickest identified factor within the Universe as Tachyons (A putative elegance of debris) are equipped to journey quicker than the velocity of sunshine. The slowest velocity feasible for a tachyon is the velocity of sunshine.
