I had nose surgery Monday and the area underneath my eyes are swollen and very bruised. What can I do to make this go away asap. I put ice on it, but it sems to be getting worst. How long before it goes away? What else can I do to help it go away?

It tends to get worse before it gets better. Stay out of the sun until it is completely gone. Arnica only works when used before the wounding/surgery.

Stay away from Motrin, Naproxen, Aspirin, and other such drugs as they can make it worse. You can try Flax Seed oil at 1000 mg a day. It can't hurt.

It will probably take a week or two to go away.

When I got some facial bruising and swelling, the doctor had me use ice packs for about 2 weeks.

Relax: When the swelling goes down, no one will be able to tell it ever happened.

Good luck!

It will stay swollen and bruised for at least 2 weeks.

Go to your local health food store and find a salve or ointment that contains Arnica as the main ingredient. I had a bruise from buttock to ankle and it really, really really works.

I think you should follow the post-op instructions given to you by the surgeon. If you have excessive pain or swelling, contact your doctor immediately.

Generally, in two to three weeks, you will be all cleared up!!

Good luck in your recovery!!
