MONZON DID HAVE DECISION WINS OVER SEVERAL GREAT FIGHTERS. MONZON WOUND PRESSURE ROY THRU OUT THE BOUT. ROY'S SPEED WOULD BE THE KEY. AS LONG AS JONES DOES NOT MIX IT UP WITH CARLOS, HE EARNS A 15 RD SPLIT DECISION.

This would be a nice bout. Roy would edge out Monzon in stamina, defense, and speed. Monzon has more power and chin. Monzon is a wise slugger and would be all over you.
I think Jones would take control of the early rounds with his speed. He would jab Monzon and keep him at bay. I see Monzon fighting back in the middle rounds, causing some fireworks of his own. Roy would be smart and speedy enough to take control of the bout once again after he figures out Monzon. I, however, doubt that Monzon does not posses the skills to break down Roy. I think Monzon will stop Roy more or less in round 10. I see Monzon throwing a flurry of powerful punches with Roy not answering back.

I'd have to go with Jones. Monzon was a tough fighter but too slow for a fighter with Roy's blazing speed. Roy would just move and potshot him all night and swell him up real bad en route to a 15 round unanimous decision. Bad style match up for Monzon.

Monzon was a great stand up boxer, with power and heart, but he would have been up against one of the most elusive targets in boxing. Roy Jones Jr. would have been too quick for Monzon to break down, and too fast for Monzon to out box.
Jones by unanimous decision.

Roy Jones at MW or SMW in his prime was IMO unbeatable. Not only that but his speed and style would have been bad for Monzon. This fight would have looked like Jones/Hopkins if you ask me.
