So far the recalled foods are all wet foods (canned and pouched).

I had to put my seven year old cat to sleep two days ago from kidney failure and liver damage as a result of not eating properly fo weeks...(i've been in and out of the vets for weeks) I know friskies in not in the recall list but. as the news stated today thier is another manufacturer that the fda has found an ingredient found in making plastic. but they won't as of yet release the manufacturer or brands (probably political)....I've been speaking to many friends with very sick dogs and cats who use dry food only so I'm willing to bet its tainted also....(i primarily feed my cat dry food and they get wet food about once a week. (I had two cats, sisters and the one who survived is still sick....I placed a complaint with menu foods explaining that I used the tops companion brand food reciently but I don't save my empty cans from a month ago and I also explained that I was running out of money ( I spent $1200 treating her) and if I was'nt going to be reimbursed for any of the costs I would have to put her down soon....that was monday morning...I had to put her to sleep wed night. Menu foods never called me back even though they said they would. I'm sorry for ranting but the whole thing has me very upset. What I'm tring to say is just because it isn't on the list doesn't mean its safe....I don't doubt this whole thing will be used to put some laws in or pass some bill related to terrorism because it looks like these tainted ingredient were intentionally put there...what better way to get a point across I guess. BTW if it was the dry food in my case it would have been from the large bag of dads urinary track formula I've been using for 2 months.

Nope, you are safe. We have 5 kittens all getting Friskies canned along with their kibble and we were very concerned.

They are almost old enough that we can eliminate the canned altogether. I normally make 'wet' cat food as a supplement to their commercial dry diet because it's cheaper for us.

no, friskies and whiskas are not on the list...go to

www.menufoods.com/recall

and get the entire list....your best bet, right now, is to feed dry food until we get more answers...my vet says one third boiled chicken (meat only) mixed with two thirds part rice will be ok for a short while for feeding....good luck...if your animal is acting weird, even if the food's not on the list....go to your vet!!

No, they are not.
Go to www.menufoods.com
There are lists there and extra info.

Of all the recalled food, it is only the wet versions, but not all brands of wet food are affected.
