IN THIS BOUT, HAGLER WOULD PUT ENOUGH PRESSURE TO POUND OUT A UNANIMOUS 15 RD DECISION.

Great matchup. This match would become a boxer versus puncher match. Hagler has the edge in power and chin. Jones, Jr. has the edge in speed and defense. I think that this would prove to be a mildly entertaining bout.
In the first few rounds, I see Jones connecting with his jabs from the outside. He will try to frustrate Hagler. Hagler is not very good against speedy opponents. I think that he would spend most of the early rounds chasing after Roy. Heading into the middle frames, I think Jones will still be outboxing Hagler. I see Hagler engaging Roy in these rounds. The championship rounds would be the moment for Hagler. I see him dropping Roy a couple of times before the decision. Ultimately, I see Hagler winning a split decision against the agile Roy Jones, Jr.

Tough call here. Roy had tremendous hand and foot speed and could box Marvin from a distance while Hagler pressed the fight and would look to trap the elusive Jones on the ropes and in the corners. Hagler was at his best against fighters who came at him, like Mustafa Hamsho, Tony Sibson, Vito Antuefermo, Juan Roldan, and so on. Hagler had trouble with fighters that could show him movement and defense. As even Duran gave him trouble, even though Marvin won a close decision against Roberto, Duran went 15 solid rounds with a prime Hagler mainly because he gave Hagler lots of upper body movement and rolled with a lot of Hagler's shots. And Leonard befuddled Marvin with speed and movement, just as i suspect Roy would and Roy is natuarlly bigger than Sugar Ray was and he had a little more pop at Middleweight, not to say that Roy would've knocked Marvin out, but he had enough power to keep him honest. As much as i love Hagler, styles makes fights, and Roy would be a bad match up for Marvin style-wise. Marvin would press Roy all night and land some shots, but Roy's hand speed, quickness and elusiveness would carry him to a close decision win over Hagler.
And believe me. it pains me to say this! Hagler is one of my all time favorites but i have to call it like i see it! Great question!

Hagler in a seventh round knockout, he could change from southpaw to orthodox and still be affective. Roy could run for so long,Hearns could not keep Hagler off and he had tremendous knockout power.

Hagler fought a lot of tough competition, and it can be said that none of them truly beat him. Roy never fought that level opposition . Hagler pounds out a decision.

Hagler. He would have figured Jones out by the 4th round, knocked him out by the 6th.

Similar to the Jones/Hopkins fight as well, only a little closer. Hagler didn't show the ability to adapt to footwork when he faced a smaller, out-of-his-prime Leonard, so I have little doubts that Roy would beat him.
