I think it's a security thing, you feel safer with a taller guy. 5'7 not that bad. I'm 5'3 and my ex (only bf) was the same height, least you've got 4 extra inches

Ah in your question simplicity is key, and i'm starting to think you are just posting this in a sort of smartass comment to height issues, such that you have seen a couple today and the girl was short and guy tall. So simply I tell you to get over it, it's not all about social appearance, perhaps they share something beyond appearances (wild I know!). The key to this is really that of "types", yes you know the set of qualities that everyone prefers to have in their mates. Well some people like tall guys, whether they themselves be short or not. This is a general stereotype if you ask me, and you did. As far as who short guys should date....if we are speaking on socially acceptable terms then I guess the correct answer would be short girls, however realistically they should date whomever they feel that special bond with.

Not all short women go out with tall guys. I am short and had one tall boyfriend but all my others were either average or below average height. My husband is not tall - in fact he is below average height. So, short guys will go out with average or short girls. I have even seen short guys with taller women!

I'm barely five foot tall & I always dated guys no taller than 5'4". The shortest guy I dated was 5'2"...Short guys can date gals a little shorter than they are, if height is an issue.

hahaha. I love tall men too and I'm 5'3. Except what is so funny is we may say we just want a tall guy but I've only really been with one tall guy the rest were short. How short are you? Maybe if you date a midget then you would feel taller? haha ok that was just rude. Have a good one!

I am 5'4 and I will not date a guy who is under 5'11, because I think tall guys are sexier, and on top of that you feel safe with them, how is a guy who is 5'7 going to protect me from a 6'4 linebacker? So for me personally, its a issue with who I feel safest with. And the only short guys I know that think they can protect a girl have what I call "little man syndrome" where they walk with their arms all stiff like they are little pit bulls as if to scare off an advesary. Whatever lol, tall guys are where its at.
