Sounds like they're trying to rape you of your independence.

In all reality, it is a good thing, for them, and for you as well, but that would be like my parents, or the law saying I cannot drink seems I've just now turned 21 (when I am legal to) and can't until I'm 22.

When I was 17 I would have said HELL NO that isn't a good thing. I hadto wait when I was 17 to get mine. I had to have my permit for over a year..... BUT it is a good chance to get your driving skills down and your parents comfortable about their little girl out in the mad world of road rage... You should be at a mature level and realize the intensity that driving can be... Be patient and you will be one of the few who are not reckless.

If you do a search on teenage drivers you can come to your own conclusion.

Your parents obviously love you very much.

Just for your own information, do the search.

Drive safely!
