Tips for frizzy hair.
Hair that is too poofy and has a tendency to get frizzy can be the most frustrating of hair to deal with. After taking time to painstakingly style this hair, the possessor will often see it grow and become frizzy almost immediately. While nothing will permanently change it into the smooth flowing mane of hair that most of us dream of, using shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids designed for this type of hair will greatly improve the texture and our degree of happiness with it. Start the care of your hair with the shampoo and conditioner.

Frizzy hair almost always needs extra moisturizing. When choosing a shampoo or conditioner, look for the words smoothing, moisturizing or hydrating. These products will contain emollients to smooth the hair shaft and offer more control during styling.

After the hair is towel dried you will want to apply one or more of the many smoothing agents to be found in stores.

Smoothing serums and frizz serums aid in smoothing the hair but usually do not offer the holding quality of other products. Some of these are light in weight and can be used alone on hair that gets frizzy but becomes overly limp with more product. Others are heavy in nature and aid in controlling hair with too much body. The heavier product should be used sparingly until you have experience in its effect on your type of hair. Serums are most often applied to wet hair.

Hair crèmes are creamy in form and usually add control to the hair along with the frizz relief properties. They can be used on wet hair or worked into dry hair and provide a certain amount of hold.

Gels offer the maximum in hold and are usually better at relieving frizz than a mousse. The layering of several of these products will increase the amount of frizz control.

Reading labels, advice from your hairdresser and experimenting will help you decide which products will work best for you.

Once you have decided on the proper products pay close attention to drying and styling your hair. I prefer to apply a frizz serum and hair crème and then let my hair air dry until it is damp but not dripping wet. Actual styling will not take place until the last few minutes of drying time. Be sure to exercise control over the hair while it is drying. Concentrate on small areas and work slowly. Allowing the hair to blow around will only accentuate the unruliness. I have found that a round boar-bristle brush works best to smooth out very curly hair, leaving it with a healthy shine.

Make sure the hair is completely dry. Any moisture in the hair will cause it to revert to its frizzy texture. You may use several tools to finish your style. A one and one half inch curling iron or larger will smooth out left over unruliness and give it shape. A paddle brush used with a blow dryer will put the finishing touches on a straight style. When your hair is dried and styled, further styling and smoothing is offered by pomades and hair waxes.

Finish your style with a flexible hair spray and, even in humidity, everyday will be a "Good Hair Day".

If anything of this work get your thyroid gland check. If it's not working properly might get frizzy hair.

I have very thick curly hair and believe me it is extremely poofy and frizzy if I dont use products. This is my routine to keep my hair looking good and frizz free.
1st i shampoo with a frizz fighting shampoo, I am currently using herbal essences totally twisted but i have also used Sunsilk defrizz and Garnier Fructis Curl and shine. All of these are very good products. I like to switch them up about every 2 months or so.
2nd Condition. What ever kind of shampoo I am using I use that kind of conditioner. Massage it in to my hair and let it sit for 1-2 min. Rinse
3rd I dont towl dry i sling excess water out of my hair and then pick it out.
4th apply a leave in conditioner I am currenly using Redkin anti-snap
5th Pick again
6th apply a styling product I tend to use moose because it doesnt give my hair a stiff sticky feeling.
Last Hair spray. Hair spray is my friend It allows for the curl to stick and frizz be gone.
Also do not blow dry allow it to dry naturally.
Hope this helps.

you could use 'denise McAdams' shampoo... i have crazy hair, but that stuff helps so much! or if you wanna be good to the environment and animals you could use 'Nicky Clarke- hairomatherapy' it hasnt been tested on animals and it's in an aluminium bottle so it can be recycled! that stuff is also great!
i put the shampoo on my hair (obviously while its wet) and brush it through, that tends to get rid of the knots. i was advised to only brush my hair when i wash it, now i have crazy curls! yeah, anyway, then i wash the shampoo out and wrap a towel around my head to let it dry. i dont use a hair dryer because it actually takes away the moisture in your hair and makes things worse! then i take the towel off my head and don't do anything else to it! it's kinda simple really...
hope i've been helpful! phants x x x

Okay, for your frizzy hair, I suggest trying to deep condition it, because there's nothing out there that will make your hair better than a good product that will really give your hair a difference. I like to go with natural products on my hair, I go for pure argan oil based so i only use Pro Naturals Hair Repair System, try that one too...it's the best ever!! ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
