Not one of you religious idiots can answer this question truthfully without compromising your own religious faith. Your God would see you as being sinful and disobedient as well as anti-IT! So America struggles each day with Freedom of Religion, as one religion gains more ground than another based primarily upon the majority vote of the religion that holds the power. All other religions are allowed to worship freely but just tell me of one other religion that has been has taken to task the religious obligation of trying to further itself upon this country than CHRISTIANITY! It is not for a belief of LOVE THY Neighbor either; but for sure pure domination. I have seen the evidences of Christ and God and find this truth to be true; America formed when men escaped KINGDOMS and Kings, God and Jesus have called themselves KINGS, we need to rid our country of these monarchs and those that follow them in the name of religious persecution. One day man will find the spirit within himself!

Now here is a mind that understand the bigger picture. Unfortunately it will be lost of most Christians. If you look at the all the other predictions of the future religion are all eradicated off the planet. The belief in a God is primitive and much be released for man to realize his full potential.

All thoughts are creative. One day man will come to understand the God that created us in his image was a distortion to truth. Man is creative so much so he thought up a God to justify his existence and made it into a belief and taught other is was more important than man himself. Pretty down right creative hey?

But the God construct takes away man's ability to get in touch with who he really is. The creation of God has become a method of enslavement for man because it suspends or stop man's natural ability to reason or create.

Man is the real creative force is why a God can't be proven. You can prove man creation all around you from farming to the religions.

Can I (I don't consider myself a "religious idiot") answer this question truthfully without "compromising" my own religious faith?

Yes.

I do NOT believe the U.S. would be better off choosing one "religion" to follow--our Country was founded by those seeking the freedom to worship as they pleased and not be subject to a monarchy/dictatorship.

I am a born-again Christian; I do not believe it is my "right" to "force" my beliefs on anyone. That does not mean I do not share my beliefs with others. And it also means that I am respectful of other beliefs and will respectfully and politely listen to other beliefs, and ask only the same respect and consideration in return.

Your comments regarding Jesus and God are interesting; may I submit to you that Jesus stated that He did not come to Earth to condemn man, but rather to save man. Men, over the centuries, have certainly abused/bastardized Christ's message; however, the message remains unchanged.

I am a Christian and I will answer it.

No, a state religion is not the answer. It doesn't matter whether we have prayer in schools, or laws against abortion or anything else that the non believers seem to despise. What does matter in this country and in all countries around the world are the people. What good would it do if the laws were 100% Godly (by the way, the commands are) but only 5% of the people actually tried to follow them.

Actually, the US would be better of if ALL things of a religous nature were beyond the scope of any authority other than that of the particular religion. If ALL religious could FULLY and COMPLETELY follow their teachings and not have to answer to any outside authority what so ever, no matter what action they take in the name of their religion.

Of course not being a Christian (I follow the Norse GODS) the idea of pluralism is already a part of my belief system.

Before answering you question, i've read all the peoplo who have answer your question, you know, it is a very positive way to think, would be beatifull to have a nation like that but would be even better the whole wolrd, but if i am not mistaken that was the beggining of christianity, but you know, everyone want to have diferent interpretations, even dont be responsables for own tougths or acts, so, yeah would be really nice, but..... Reality is the reality and keep praying untill one day We can live in the same place in peace!

Well,

I read no further than you calling me an idiot. If you want a true answer, ask an intelligent question without hurling insults in your first line.

But to answer the part of the question that I did read:

I am a Catholic convert, I believe that our Government should provide for our national defense, and basic needs.

I believe that we should be all be able to worship God if and as we see fit.

And I don't want a religious autocracy, even if it were a Catholic one.

PEace!

No. Being a Christian, I believe that God gave us all free will. That includes the ability to choose what you will believe in. For a country to enforce one religion (as many Muslim countries do), would be a violation of freedom of religion that is guaranteed in this country and a violation of the free will God gave us.

If one religion attempted to outlaw all other religions in this country, the country would erupt into a civil war with terrorism that would likely make 9/11 look quaint.
