I have been re-potting some plants & amongst the various nasties I noticed a large number of yellow spheres, about 3mm dia. They squidge when I crush them so I assume they are eggs of something. What do they develop into? Are they goodies or baddies?

They are not eggs. They a timed release plant food. We used to use them at the nursery that i worked at

The worst thing for the plants would be moth eggs.
