The rules have loosen quite a bit and what colors are "in" have changed as well!
I didnt pick out my wedding colors until I found a style of bridesmaids dress that would work for all 5 girls(I had every body style represented). I looked at what colors were available and ended up going with a black and ivory wedding with red accents(to pay homage to my husbands alma mater).
In all actuality pale pink might work if you did it with darker(hot) pink accents and dressed everything up with silver, using white for small accents! Using more silver and less white would make it darker and more dramatic for fall.
Do pale pink dresses with a hot pink sash or wrap, bouquets that are hot/darker pinks with pale pink accents and the "handle" wrapped in hot pink. Remember that the fabric has ALOT to do with something looking too "spring/summer"....go for a heavier satin or silk shantung. Stay away from flowy fabrics like chiffon. Make you bouquet a bigger variation of the bridesmaid's with a mix of the pinks OR do white and silver with the handle wrapped in white, silver or a pink.
Do what YOU love. There are ways to make a color season appropriate by changing up what you would "normally" do for accents. Just promise me one thing....do NOT do the pale pink and wine combo. I remember it from the JC Penneys bridal catalog when I was little(20 yrs ago) and it bothered me then!
Make your wedding young, fresh, and a celebration of what you love. I can guarantee your fiance will not care about colors.

First of all Congrats! I'm getting married this October.
And have found can do either, it's your wedding anything goes! Just because it's fall that doesn't mean you can have your favorite colors.
I had to decide the exact same thing! My dress is the thing that answered it for me.
I went with fall colors because I have gold lace in my dress. My bridesmaid is doing a Burnt Orange dress from Alfred Angelo. And my table colors will be gold & chocolate.
Just look at the stuff you have for the wedding already or want and see which you gravitate more towards.

The first thing I thought of for a fall wedding is a darkish red as your main color and chocolate brown as your highlight. From the colors you suggested, I like the combination of silver and pale pink. However, when I think of those colors spring comes to mind first. Maybe try a darker shade of pink with gold so that your orginal idea is still there but modified (darker colors seem to stand out more as a fall setting).
Congratulations and best of luck!

Any color will look great with a white gown... There is no rule as to what colors to have during certain seasons, however, you don't want your bride's maids to be wearing pastel pink or baby blue dresses on your October Wedding day. What I suggest is a burnt shade of green for the bridesmaids or perhaps a wine (burgundy) color would also look great! You may add green leaves to your wedding bouquet to compliment the green dresses. I'm not sure what you are doing for the men, but maybe you should try not to do a vest for them. Let them wear a simple three button black suit, with a white shirt and a simple black tie. The whole idea of the bride's maids and groom's men matching is old... Congratulations and whatever you decide to you, make sure you focus on yourself the most, because this is your day, and you are the one who is supposed to look best. Oh, one more thing.... PLEASE take into consideration the body shapes of your bride's maids before making dress selections! And remember, simplicity is beautiful!

It's your wedding, you can have any color you want. It depends too on if you're having an indoor or outdoor wedding. Some nice fall colors are hunter or emerald green, burgundy or chocolate brown, burnt orange, deep purple, red. Silver would go great with the red, burgundy, and purple!

With the white and silver I'd suggest a deep rich blue.
Burgundy would be a second choice but I love silver and deep blue.
Good Luck and all the best.

Unless the theme of the wedding is fall, I don't think you are required to pick 'fall' colors.......it's your wedding and you should pick the colors YOU want, regardless of what month you are getting married. My cousin did the same thing and she was so sorry afterwards...she ended up picking fall colors that she didn't really care for to appease my Aunt.
This is your special day - pick the colors you want.

White and silver are winter colors.....fall are usually darks or dark pastel colors. I would consult with a coordinator since they can give you some idea what is an appropriate color for autumn weddings.

I suggest a cinnamon color. My sister is using this as her wedding color for her upcoming October wedding.
