cool - it represents YOU. it makes YOU happy. YOU enjoy it.
bad - poorly done with blotches by crappy artist, cliche tats cuz other people have it-you decide to copy, you trade dirty green paper for it

Getting tattoos is a personal choice. They can be used to show your attitude, your dreams, your loved ones, etc. Tattoos should be chosen carefully, because they are permanent.(Other than laser surgery) Don't get them because somebody else tells you they're cool. Get them because you want them. Then you have to deal with the people who will try to put you down because you chose to express yourself in such a way. They'll see the tattoo first (if it's out in the open) and judge you for what they see, not what you are. I'll be fifty this year and I have over 20 tats.

Cool=reseaching what you are putting on YOUR BODY it is something there FOREVER .when your 60 will you still be proud of it / showing it off in public? if you Are determend to get one look at more then one tattoo studio or Artist' work as ever Artist works /draws differently .some good~some bad~If you do find a Good- Clean Artist You like &and you get 1 you Will most likely get another+
as for whats bad--One you put on your self when you Don,t know How to Draw #1,Letting someone else practice on you (even if they can draw a straight line)
I have many and at my age only 1 is a little regretful~
My son is a new artist but has done some nice work
even if he is my son~I,d tell him if I thought he sucked &buy more' Hams' for him to practice on...Think about it seriously!!

Tatts aren't mandatory for style. And while the stigma of tattoos has changed since I was a kid, it still carries with it a certain level of 'shame' for people over the age of 40.
I say this, because, like or not, you will have to deal with old folks at some point in your life. They will be responsible for making decisions that will affect your life, and how they feel about you is going to impact that decision.
As for your personal choice, if you feel like you want some art on your body permanently then go for it. I'd avoid "back of the neck" or "base of Spine" tatts as your first ones - I've heard the term "Tramp Stamp" applied to these locations - and you may (or may not) want to bypass that label.
Good places are ankle, upper arm, back of shoulder-blade and side of breast (for girls), Over heart for guys. These places can all be concealed as needed. Your tattoos are yours; nobody Else's. If you want to share them with the world, go right ahead. If you want to keep them to yourself, do so.
Be sure you choose a reputable place to do the deed. make sure you choose art that says something to you forever, not just right then. And take care of it afterward. Keep it beautiful.

Bad tats are done poorly like, faded, shakey lines or unrealistic looking tats. Good ones are beautiful like they were drawn by a great artist on a canvas. It could be a picture of a butt and a "real" artist could make it look good!

Your tattoo is going to be awesome because it is an expression of you -- it could be a memory, an inside joke, a favourite, a conversation starter, a feeling, it could be anything!
As long as you're sure to think long and hard about your piece and your placement, your new tattoo is bound to be amazing!
