I have been suffering from severe pain on the left side of my tongue for the last 6 months. I have seen the dentist 5 times (he suggested a crown which I got with no reduction in tongue pain) I have seen the ENT who said nothing was wrong, I have seen an oral surgeon twice who now wants me to get a CT scan. Does anyone have any pain relief suggestions?

I would recommend a neurologist. Nerves in the neck affect the tongue. If he clears you, then my next step would be to see a chiropractor.

Have you had anything pierced recently? Sounds like they hit a nerve. I think you need to see someone who deals with nerve fibers. Ask for a referral.

Do you have ulcers? Is it irritated, or just pain?

If it's just pain, you might have a nerve being impinged.

If ulcers, LEAVE THEM ALONE!
