It seems like you know exactly what you need to do to help yourself lose the weight; you are just too lazy to do it. That wasn't meant as an insult, but think about it...it really is true. I HATE going to the gym, but I still go 3-4 times a week. Not because I'm all "pumped up" for it, or even because I want to go. I go because I told myself I wanted to lose the weight; so I GO to the gym, mentally kicking and screaming the whole way. You can go to this website called calorie-count.com. I use it to keep track of the food I eat every day; you can also use it to set goals for your weight loss, to determine your BMI and BMR, and how many calories you need to eat to lose/gain/maintain your weight. You need to cut off 500 calories per day from what you normally eat, and increase your cardio and strength training (i.e. Pilates, Yoga) exercise. You will probably lose about 2-3 pounds a week if you do that. Just imagine having lost 20 pounds by early June!

if losing some pounds of any description and inches is what you want then I would suggest you use a diet that is all natural and is rich in protein and vitamins, which is what the FDA recommends. I used a protein based diet after a friend who had lost a lot of weight with this recommended it to me. All the way through you feel great and energized, you also get great coaching and support along the way. The people are very friendly and gave me lots of great advice. I needed to lose 40 pounds and I did so with no problems. The products really work and you feel great whilst losing weight. I lost all my weight in less than four months and they have helped me to keep it off. I would definitely recommend using them. My sister did this also and lost 76 pounds in five months (She works out, I don’t). There is no pressure and they will even send you a load of free samples so you can try before you buy. The samples were the thing that initially convinced me that this was the right diet for me. You also a get a free complete health consultation with the samples, I just paid the postage and handling, but for what I got it was well worth it. You just to go to myhealthabc.com to register your details to get the free samples and the free advice etc and then they just call you up and ask you a few questions. It was so easy. Their main site is www.myhealthabcmall.com and you can see all the products and packages and order from their. Its nice to have contact with real people who care about you losing weight and improving your health. I am in better health now than I have ever been thanks to these products and I know that I will continue to keep the weight off with the help I have received. I hope this helps.

Motivational tips:
Think of why you want to exercise. Make a list - better health, feel better about yourself, to look better, to fit in your summer clothes, so that money for the gym doesnt go to a total waste, and so on. Read this list every day as a reminder of why you are working out.
Work out with a friend, or dog, or parent, or sibling, or anyone - having plans with another person, it’s hard to just not go. It’s also your time alone together for it to be just the two of you (or three of you - however many people you want).
Do something you actually enjoy - a sport, biking, swimming, running, hiking, even yard/house work. If you enjoy your workout session, it wont seem like a chore.
And my best advice is the reward system. Depending on how long you can go without losing the motivation (weekly, monthly) reward yourself as long as you stay on task. It should be something you won’t get unless you did well with your exercising and eating well. The longer the wait for the reward, the bigger - weekly rewards are smaller, but at the same time, they come weekly - a rented movie, a favorite desert, an hour of TV/video games/computer. Monthly rewards are bigger because you need to be motivated and stay on track without slipping once - a favorite restaurant, guy/girl night now, *limited money* shopping spree. You get the idea. (Note: some like a big reward but cant do well for the entire month - so I suggest week 1 & 2 a small reward, week 3 no reward, and week 4 a reasonable bigger reward.)

This is totally going to sound like spam, but it's not -- I promise!!!!
There's a wonderful FREE website out there to help with weight loss. It's called SparkPeople.com. I've been using it since December and I've lost about 15 lbs. You can track your calories and exercise with their handy little trackers and there's also a whole community of message boards. You can join a team of people that are similar to you, or you can choose a team that's issuing a challenge to all it's members.
Something to help with the gym is to maybe find a workout buddy. I started working out with a friend of mine and neither of us wants to disappoint the other, so we've been quite faithful. Maybe through SparkPeople you can find a buddy in your area!
Good luck to you no matter what! Losing weight is a hard thing to do.

Well two years ago i had the same problem! I found a very easy and inexpensive way to lose weight! I joined a tennis team, i had to fun 3 miles everyday! i know that sounds like a long distance but to tell you the truth it seem long only for the first week. it took about an hour out of my day. im not in tennis any more but i still run! i also cut back on soda. and drank more water. thats it! no gym no clubs no diets it actually worked. the whole motivation thing your gonna have to figure out on your own. i wasnt motivated at first either but as soon as i realized i was losing weight i got more motivated. good luck!

1- gary null is an alternative medicine quack who shouldn't be listened to.
2- you are missing the MOST important factor in any weight loss plan. WHAT YOU EAT.
What you eat, proper nutrition, is MUCH more important than working out. you can lose weight without working out and eating properly, but you will never lose and will likely gain weight by eating poorly and working out.
If the gym doesn't do it for you, skip it and find an activity for excercise that you enjoy so you will stick with. The gym might be the best way, but if you don't have the drive to follow it, then it won't do you any good so find something you will do.
You need to learn about nutrition and how to make substitutes. I would suggest buying nutrition books and learning for yourself the whys and wherefores rather than relying on diets, most of which (like FAtkins) rely on junk science.
I would suggest you start with the following book: it is a good and easy read and doesn't sell you a "diet plan". Eat Drink and Be Healthy, the harvard medical school guide to healthy eating.
next I would begin by writing down what you eat. I guarantee you eat more crap than you think. Then take the nutrition info you read about and start subtituting the bad foods in your diet, for healthy nutritious foods you like. Then start removing the "empty calorie" foods from your diet and replace them with healthy foods that provide nutritional benefits.
In general eliminate all foods that have two things:
Trans Fat, and High Fructose Corn Syrup.
3- the best type of excersise for weight loss is generally HIIT (high intensity interval training) and circuit training. look them up but you said you weren't interested in the gym. HIIT is a form of cardio that can be done outside though and if you enjoy running maybe switching to outdoor running would keep you motivated.

i found the e book to be very informative and elementary to verify. i've got lost 17 pounds in 12 days, i'm purely in touch that i'm dropping too lots weight, too at as quickly as. i will admit i've got not observed the instruction manual precisely. i'm no longer sticking completely to the listed meals and meal plans (yet often) and doing little or no workout, however the burden keeps flying off. It of course works and if i might observed it precisely i think of it would scare the residing daylights out of me by using quantity that i might lose. So thank you lower back for the counsel. i've got on no account bought something like this in the previous by using fact they're oftentimes crammed with trash, yet 3WD has been a delightful ask your self. start at present!

you need an ipod or a cd player. thats why you dont want to go! you need something to stimulate your mind and body, what about some work out tapes to do int he privacy of your own home. i was having a same problem, lack of motivation, esp int erms of trecking to the gym, so i cancelled my membership and invested ina eliptical machine. NOw i work out 3 times a week int he provacy of my mom and i can wear my pajamas! but ifs not financially afforable for you i would def invest in a walk man to keep you rmind busy while ur burning calories!

I'm in the same boat, but I took the last several years to put on the extra pounds. I've recently motivated myself to do the "right" things, including daily workouts by hanging my favorite pair of bermuda shorts on my bedroom door, the ones that I want to be able to wear this summer. It is a constant reminder of what I want to accomplish. I see them when I wake up and before I go to bed. So far, so good! NR
