Unfortunately, not always. You can do all the ab exercises in the world but if you layer of fat is still coating your belly, it will all be for naught.

If you already have no fat on your stomach, you can definitely get some definition by working out. Otherwise, you need to diet a little to get the extra weight off. Also, a flat stomach may not be in the cards because of your genes.

It depends on what you do when you are at the gym. Do a mix of excersises and make sure you work out your entire body. Both cardio and weight training is important. Try classes like body combat, body pump and spinning as well as interval running as it's a good way to burn fat and increase your fitness level.

I found that I got the tummy I always wanted through training with a trainer 2 times a week.

I used to go to the gym regularly. I got fit but didn't get a flat tummy.Last August I started doing pilates.

i just go once a week (although I went twice a week for six weeks prior to a holiday in October)

It's not hard or strenuous but I can honestly say it's made a huge difference to my tummy!!(and I've had three children)

The fact that it's not hard makes it easier to keep going and keep motivated.

It costs £6 a session which is pricey i know but I feel it's money well spent.

yes it CAN, but that doesn't mean it will.

The #1 mistake people make is that they believe that because they are working out- they can now eat like crap.

This actually causes them to eat worse so they end up gaining weight.

What you eat, is more important than going to the gym. Going to the gym will get you to your goal quicker and will supplement your weight loss in a huge way, however you simply cannot and will not lose weight or tone up if you are not eating properly.

If you are doing cardio workouts. To get rid of the flab, you have to do cardio - to tone the abs, to ab exercises.

The best workouts are a combination of both weights and cardio - a better tone for the entire body.

Excellent, nice to see someone has got off the couch. Sure it will help. Ask one of the trainers to advise you of a good regime for your specific needs.
