I am a beginner and i noticed my wrists kinda hurt. is that bad? i know that i sometimes hold the club too tight and i am working on developing a softer grip. If I can improve my grip will this make me safe from wrist injuries? Is my pain a warning sign that i better do something different or i will hurt myself? How common are wrist injuries?

My advise to you is to stop hitting the ground. If you are not hitting the ground, then you have a big problem with your hands and grip. See a pro for lessons or stop playing. If you hurt it too bad, you may not be able to masterbate anymore.

your wrists hurting may be bad and may be fine... since ur a beginner, your wrists are gonna hurt no matter what bcuz im sure ur not used to hitting the ground with something metal every day, but the softer grip won't help the pain go away...you need to get a lesson or talk to a doctor about it and see if its alright and usually wrist injuries in golf arent serious, but no matter what they'll be painful... the best advice i can give u is to get a lesson and see a doctor about your wrists to see if its just because your golfing or if its bcuz your golfing incorrectly....my guess though is that u just need to keep playing , and the pain will eventually go away becuase your wrists will toughen up

Wrist injuries are fairly common in golf because you are hitting into the ground. If you watch on Tv quite a few golfers have their left wrist wrapped w/ an ace bandage[for right hand swingers]. To help avoid them make sure you warm up and stretch your hands and wrists before you make real swings that make divots. Also if that doesn't help you may need to switch to graphite shafts because they will absorb more shock caused by hitting the ball and the ground. Hope this helps.

A fifty dollar lesson will help your game and also prevent a much larger doctors bill in the future. It's something a pro's gonna have to look at.
