I need a tattoo idea. I have recently overcome a trying period in my life (which i will explain) and want something to remember what ive gone through. Although it doesnt seem like a hard time to anyone else - I was suspended from college due to my grades which i had been lying about.I moved away from my school, to NJ (FAR AWAY) I am now fully on my own - all of my bills - and I'm doing well. I'm in the process of getting student loans and getting ready to go back to school. At the beginning of the whole ordeal I thought I wouldnt be able to do it on my own - but I came out on top and a better person because of it. As trivial as it sounds to others, its a big deal to me - and i would love something to remind myself of it, and be able to look at and know i paid for it with the money i made myself. Kind of like a big bragging picture

I want to incorporate a star -- because i have 3 tattoos, 2 of which are stars (I'm obsessed...)

I have been wanting to get a tattoo recently, but particularly one with significance to me -- like you, I have been trying to overcome difficult times. One idea I had for a tat was a phoenix rising. If you're not familiar with the phoenix, it's a mythical bird that consumes itself in fire and then rises from the ashes. I thought the analogy of this with life was pretty powerful. Here's a link to read up more on the bird and then for pictures you could just do a phoenix bird google search. Sorry, but I can't think of any way to incorporate stars into this. Hope this helped!

That's a very big accomplishment and not at all trivial! Very happy for you... I would think about what represents what you went through...to YOU. What you get tattooed on you doesn't have to be a blatant explanation of what you went through, it just has to have meaning to you and commemorate to you what you went through and what you overcame.

when I think of trying times I think of a phoenix rising from ashes, you could have it going up your back rising tword a night setting with a star in the sky or stars and a moon.

i really like the broken flying heart w/rain cloud idea. as for one that would sybolize your past, dollar bill with your college name on it and instead of a president's face, how about an A+ ? but it is really your choice

Tattoo the word "Faith" or "Dream" or "Hope" because you never gave up and had to do all of those words to get to where you are now.
