26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness....

The 'our' there. Do you think they really understood the awesomeness of it. That before time there was Jesus? Genesis was written centuries before Christ's birth!

St.John 1:1 says in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

This makes me smile.

It is kind of awesome.

No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only who is at the Father's side, has made Him known. (John 1:18)

Believe it or not God revealed that verse to me.

Although I know Jesus is God and I had read that verse quite a few times, one day it hit me like a lightning bolt, then I read it again and again.
I was so overwhelmed because I knew God Himself was revealing the Truth to me.

It does make you feel pretty special.

Why I can’t believe in the royal we, idea to Genesis 1:26 and 3:22,

If Jehovah talked with the royal we or us, etc, why did He only do it only 4-5 times.

Why didn’t He or doesn’t He continue to do to so through out the bible.

Why didn’t He use the royal we at Gen. 1:29, 30 only 3 verses later, or Gen. 2:18, Gen. 3:11, 15
and through out the rest of the bible? Why at Isa. 6:8, does Jehovah say “Whom shall I send”?

Job 38:4-7 shows that the angels were existing at the creation of man, so Jehovah wasn’t alone and had many spirit creatures to talk to.

Instead, which sounds more real and truthful, that Jehovah was talking to someone who is His Master Worker, His Firstborn Son, His Faithful Witness, who is His image, His exact representation, OR He was talking to Himself. (Prov. 8:30; Heb. 1:3; Col 1:15)

Bible scholar Donald E. Gowan said “There is no support in the O[ld] T[estament] for most of the proposed explanations: the royal ‘we,’ the deliberative ‘we,’ the plural of fullness, or an indication of a plurality of persons in the Godhead.

Why does the word Elohim according to Strong’s Cyclopaedia, when it applies to Jehovah means Supreme God, not Gods? Even when this word is applied to Moses (Ex. 4:16 & 7:1) it doesn’t mean that there are 3 Moses, it doesn’t even mean there are 2 Moses.

(Side point when Jesus said if you see me you see the Father, it is because he is the image of God, the exact representation of his Father. When you see an image in a mirror you are seeing a representation, not the actual person. Col 1:15)

(Side point, According to my college dictionary, begotten means “to be born”, to be born means “brought into life or being” when was Jesus brought into life, when he came to life as a baby? No, as Jehovah’s Firstborn of creation Col. 1:15; Rev 3:14)

Before Christianity, there were other religions. Did you know the two accounts of Genesis contradicted other? Evolution has been proven. Read about the latest research. It's interesting. It's unbelievable how many missing links have been discovered. Contrary to what the average uneducated person believes, evolution doesn't teach, and never has, that we evolved, from apes. We just have a common ancestor. National Geographic has an interesting web site on it. Check them out some time.

Well, the writers of Genesis were actually polytheistic... It wasn't until later that the Jews dropped other gods to focus on Yahweh. Much was edited out, but some parts still linger. There are still occasional references to other gods existing, and I believe it even mentions one of them (Baal I think) by name.

And then The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.. Woohoo. Since Moses wrote the Pentatuch, I'm sure he knew the awesomeness of it!!

What's more awesome is that the moment Adam sinned, God already had a plan for our salvation worked out. It's really awesome. Because He loved us so much, He sent Himself to die for our sins. It's one thing to die for mama, but to die even for your enemies?? That's LOVE.

I smile every time I talk about it!!

Understood what? The fact a man would be born thousands of years later claiming to be God in flesh, and thousands of years after that, follows of this man-god would use the writer's use of a single word as proof of the man-god's claims......doubtful, it wasn't written as prophecy.

Jesus also said "before Abraham was, I AM".

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Actually, if you do the reasearch you will realize that Moses wrote the first books of the Bible including the book of Genesis. You will also realize that Moses was a henotheist and believed that there was a pantheon of gods with one creator God and many other gods. When Moses wrote "we" he was referring to a group of gods.

Here you go, a nice quote from a different point of veiw, since you christians love to cut and paste....

"26. And God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and they shall rule over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heaven and over the animals and over all the earth and over all the creeping things that creep upon the earth."
Let us make man From here we learn the humility of the Holy One, blessed be He. Since man was created in the likeness of the angels, and they would envy him, He consulted them. And when He judges kings, He consults with His Heavenly household, for so we find regarding Ahab, that Micah said to him, (I Kings 22:19): “I saw the Lord seated on His throne, and all the host of heaven were standing by Him, on His right and on His left.” Now do “left” or “right” apply to Him ?! But rather, [the passage means that] these [angels] were standing on the right to defend, and these [angels] were standing on the left to prosecute. Likewise, (Dan. 4:14): “By the decree of the destructive angels is the matter, and by the word of the holy ones is the edict.” Here too, He took counsel with His heavenly household. He said to them, “Among the heavenly beings, there are some in My likeness. If there are none in My likeness among the earthly beings, there will be envy among the creatures of the Creation. ” - [from Tanchuma, Shemoth 18; Gen. Rabbah 8:11, 14:13]
Let us make man Even though they [the angels] did not assist Him in His creation, and there is an opportunity for the heretics to rebel (to misconstrue the plural as a basis for their heresies), Scripture did not hesitate to teach proper conduct and the trait of humility, that a great person should consult with and receive permission from a smaller one. Had it been written: “I shall make man,” we would not have learned that He was speaking with His tribunal, but to Himself. And the refutation to the heretics is written alongside it [i. e., in the following verse:]“And God created (וַיִּבְרָא) ,” and it does not say,“and they created וַיִּבְרְאוּ.” - [from Gen. Rabbah 8:9]
in our image in our form.
after our likeness to understand and to discern.
and they shall rule over the fish Heb. וְיִרְדּוּ This expression contains both the meaning of ruling and the meaning of subservience. If he merits, he rules over the beasts and over the cattle. If he does not merit, he becomes subservient to them, and the beast rules over him. — [from Gen. Rabbah 8:12]"

that was God speaking to His Son, not God the Son but the Son of God.
Jesus had a beginning but it was b4 the foundation of the world that God formed Him out from Himself. He was formed not created like lucifer.
