There is going to be a general breakdown of social systems, security and civility throughout Iraq. There will be a brief but violent clash between the already warring Shiite and Sunni forces, the victor will establish control over the region, the loser may retreat to another part of the country and regroup. The Kurdish will take the opportunity to establish their autonomy over the North, the Sunnis in central Iraq and the Shiites most likely in the South - depending on who wins the civil war already taking place.
The short-lived vaccum of power that all the Republicans cry about and Democrats claim will not occur will actually occur for a very short period....but eventually there will be some rise to centralized power or the country will break into smaller states. It's difficult to say what will happen after this because it is completely contingent on the action or inaction of regional nations.
But from the perspective of America, our troops will get out and Saddam is gone....but there is now an unknown variable in the Middle East which no one likes....could be a good thing or a bad thing but only time will tell.
There is no definitive stance to take as to whether it is a good or bad thing. Only time will tell.

We won't be "pulling out of Iraq", so much as we will be "pulling into Iran".
Don't worry yourself, all this talk and the usual beltway b.s. is nothing more than a media diversion from our actual strategy (which is a regional strategy, and not contingent upon short-term, post-invasion results in any one state).
The pullout deadline won't make a lick of difference in the long-run because most of our forces in the region will be reassigned to the Iran mission before the pullout date (were Bush to not veto the bill, which he will). By creating the impression that our own internal bickering could cost us the entire outcome, we can plan for te REAL insurgency problem (Iran), without our enemies knowing what we're really up to. Let them plan for an American withdrawal from Iraq, it will ultimately advance the interests of our regional strategy.

Since the Democrat Party is vested in defeat, they have passed bills in both the Senate and the House, in an attempt to *ensure* defeat! I'm not sure why they are doing this except to try to ensure the election of a "Progressive", i.e. a liberal and Socialist/Communist . . . er, a "Democrat", as President of the United States!
I'm not sure whether they take their "marching orders" from the Muslims or vice versa; however, they are signalling to the Islamic extremists that they can just bide their time, then resume their Jihad against the rest of the world after the troops of the United States and our allies are withdrawn! Such actions, i.e. "giving aid and comfort to the enemy in times of war" *used* to be - and should *still* be - considered treason!
When are we going to withdraw all our troops from Japan? from Germany? from Korea?
