When I make Hamburger helper, just when done & ready to serve I put in a nicer casserolle dish and add fresh grated mozzerella cheese on top. It makes for a nice topping crust.
Has a better flavor than when milted into Hamburger helper.

If you add it while it's cooking, it will thicken up the sauce a bit more and give it a more creamy texture. Waiting until the end gives it more of a melted cheesiness.

It all depends on your desired texture of mozzarella.

I like to add taco bell spice packets to it while cooking and add the cheese at the end. Yummy.

It works better at the end. Like do it just after you take it off the heat or out of the oven. Sounds like a yummy way to finish it off and add a little pizazz

add whatever you want, it will be all right

add cheese just as you're about to turn it off and make sure a lid is on it, so the steam can melt it quickly

If you want it melted then you need to put the cheese on as soon as it is done, while it is hot.

NO!
If you were to make such an epic change to the recipe, it could unravel the fabrics of time as we know them.
Your actions have consequences, NEVER forget that!
