Does waxing reduce the appearance of hair folicles? I have found that many dipilatory creams do not work well on me, and I am allergic to some of them. They leave my legs red and spotty (worse than not using it in the first place) so I refuse to use those at all. Is waxing better than shaving overall? I haven't actually tried it yet, but if it is worth it, than I definatly will. I like the fact that it lasts a long time, and I hate it that my hair is still visible under my skin after I shave.

Waxing does last a lot longer and you don't see your hair follicles underneath your skin. Also, when the hair grows back, it is not as coarse. But it can be quite painful (depending on your pain tolerance) and it can leave your skin a little blotchy for a few hours afterwards. Waxing can also leave your skin very dry. It's not a good idea to wax when you have very dry skin as it can can more irritated after you wax. Using soothing lotion afterwards is probably a good idea.

Good Luck!

I definitely think it is worth it. It not only pulls the hair from the root so it lasts longer, but it also exfoliates dead skin cells, so the skin is softer. It may reduce the apperance of folicles and there are many different types of waxes if your skin is sensitive. Just make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing. Improper technique can cause bruising and a lot of pain. Also it is less painful if you go after your menstrual cycle when your skin is less sensitive to pain.

I have seen some women wax and seems to reduce the appearance of the follicles after a while but I'd be careful of that, cause probably is different with everyone and their tendencies with that.
I would try it once then see how it goes, and see how you like it.
