Sahi Muslim No. 4206:
"A woman came to the prophet and asked for purification by seeking punishment. He told her to go away and seek God's forgiveness. She persisted four times and admitted she was **pregnant.** He told her to wait until she had given birth. Then he said that the Muslim community should wait until she had weaned her child. When the day arrived for the child to take solid food, Muhammad handed the child over to the community. And when he had given command over her and she was put in a hole up to her breast, he ordered the people to stone her. Khalid b. al-Walid came forward with a stone which he threw at her head, and when the blood spurted on her face he cursed her."
Here is the present-day follow-up:
When his daughter tried to run away yet again, Kina (father of the girl) grabbed a kitchen knife and an ax and stabbed and beat the girl [his daughter] until she lay dead in the blood-smeared bathroom of the family's Istanbul apartment. He then commanded one of his daughters-in-law to clean up the mess. When his two sons came home from work 14 hours later, he ordered them to dispose of the 5-foot-3 corpse, which had been wrapped in a **carpet** and a blanket. The girl's head had been so mutilated, police said, it was held together by a knotted cloth."
Honor killings, which occur with shocking regularity in certain parts of the Middle East and South Asia, target women whose actions - actual or suspected - violate the honor of their family, an honor which is thought to depend on the sexual purity of its female members. Victims are always being killed/slaughtered mercilessly by her own family members. Honor killing is a manifestation of global phenomenon in general and Muslim nations in particular. Since this terrible inhumane practice does exists only among the Muslims of the world-very often civilized people do blame Islam as the precursor of this dreadful act.

There was a story in the bible of a man who raped a young woman. He was forced to marry her, but first his entire clan had to get circumcised. Unforunately for him and his clan, after the circumcism, all the adult males were killed before the marriage took place. Apparently, God didn't want that girl to have to marry him, but wanted him to face the pain of circumcism before he was killed.
The above story is about actual rape, and the rapist paid the price. What people need to understand is that in the bible sex is many times called rape, even when its not. Those times when it says the rapist has to marry the girl and cannot divorce her, that's not really rape, that's two unmarried people getting together and getting caught. The guy could either marry the girl, or get stoned to death for adultry. Same goes for the girl. In the case of real forcible rape, the story about the murder of the rapist would be the consequence.

I agree. Sometimes I just sit back and watch how bad the world is getting and cry. It's heartbreaking to see so much crap going on in the world today. All we can do is cling to God and those we love and pray for the best. =]

Um, actually rape is mentioned in the bible, and with your question in mind I think you will be shocked to find out what is said. I'll find you some scripture on biblegateway.com
28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. [c] He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

It's sad that MAN, thinking they are in control of everything, submit to the demons of Satan. This is sad and crying shame.
They will receive their punishment in due time. Don't let that fester in you.

SIN IS SO HUMAN
BUT FORGIVENESS IS SO DIVINE!!!
This would be hard for many Chrisians to
forgive but we must worship Christ in the
Spirit and the Truth Jn 4:23
If we say we are the true worshipers
of God then we must forget ourselves
and learn FAITH is mightier than PRIDE

Which God?
Rapists are indeed to be condemned but it was commonplace in Biblical times. Women were either stoned to death for being raped or forced to marry their rapist. The Bible God's laws.

God seems to approve of rape in a number of places in the OT. (Or is the Bible just just being metaphorical here?)

It sounds like you need to do some studying or get some counseling, you're really hyper-focused on this one issue... it's tragic yes... we've all already established this.
