i dont agree with calling you crazy for asking our oppinion. i would not shave her hair. my daughter is 15 and has a full head of thick black hair and i never shaved it when she was a baby. i did keep it trimmed up so that it was "healthy" but other than that i just washed it and used conditioner and put it up in cute ties. just be careful of the "old wives tales" that you listen to some are well past the times. her hair will be just fine. and she will be beautiful

No. There actually was a study done on this. Shaving does not make the hair grow back thicker or healthier. Just keep the ends trimmed and condition it like you would your own.

Few thots come to mind, #1 as children they need to rely upon their parents to make sound choices for them #2 since your here asking perhaps your not ready or feel comfortable making that sound choice, so heres the answer, ask the baby doctor, not here, u r gonna hear yays and nays for both sides, sometimes in forums like this, people will answer having their own preference in mind, not the childs, thats why im not gonna answer your question directly, my answer is, ask the baby doc, he or she has noone elses preference in mind, they will tell u whats right for the child

I have actually done a little research on this b/c a friend of ours shaved their childrens head when they were babies. all girls. We found out it does not have any affect on how it grows back but started as a tradition in some cultures

you really shouldnt shave any baby's head at the age especially girls if you want her to have long hair dont do it plus baby's hair are already healthy (but dead, lol) so no need to do anything cept to wash it
plus chaving the hair might make it courser my nepher got a buzz butnever shaved bald but his hair came out really course its not bad but still

I've never heard of that! Baby's hair is soft and beautiful, don't shave it off!

At the risk of sounding too condescending, that's ridiculous. Let the hair grow! Unless there is an underlying medical reason noted by your pediatrician (go to a clinic if you don't have one!), let the hair go - and grow.
Enjoy your little one!

That is so wrong to do. Their hair is healthy from the day it was made. Leave that poor child's hair alone. I've heard of trimming their bangs but that is it. Please seek the attention of your child's doctor or someone who knows this weird thing you're doing to your child to help you to understand that what you're doing is unnecessary.

i have never heard of that and both my sons have wonderfully healthy hair. i think that shaving the kids hair is probally one of those old wives tails. pay it no mind and leave the babies hair alone. good luck.
