I have a very large Excel spreadsheet. How do I get negative percentages to print in red. It works for currency, but I can't seem to get it to work with %s. Thanks!

Jose has the answer - I'll explain it...
Conditional formating

For example I will show you how to do it in one cell.
Do the following:

Click a cell with negative numbers
Format
Conditional formating
Use the drop down menus to create:

If cell value is less than 0

Now click on the format button change color to red.

Now simple apply this to all th negative values.

All the best

I use open office instead of excel but I think the principles are the same.

The first step is to go to Format -> Styles and Formatting. Then you'll create a new style (call it red if you want) edit it and change the font color to red.

Next go back to Format -> Conditional Formatting. Set condition to "Cell value is" "Less than" and then a zero for the next box. Under "Cell Style" is where you'll select your new style that you created (red in this case).

This should turn all the numbers with a negative sign in front of them red. Hope that wasn't too confusing, good luck.

You can do this (menu names could be inaccurate):

Format Menu > Cell > Number
Select "Custom"
Enter: 0,00%;[Red]0,00%

Substitute [Red] with the appropriate locale string for red color (I'm using a spanish excel and the string would be [rojo] )

Another option is using a conditional format.

Look into conditional formatting.
