There are many levels of love. If you really love him, let him go and let him dedicate his life to God. After all these years of discernment, he should know by now if he has a true calling. If he is ordained, support him with your friendship and get on with your life.

If you truly loved him, you wouldn't want to get rid of him. If you really feel this way, you need to tell him.
