I've had Windows vista for a while now, and everything has been working as normal, but today it just says windows is trying to find the problem and it won't let me sign in. The whole day today I was trying to sign in, but no luck. What should I do?

the same problem happen to me when i start using windows vista,the current msn messenger that come with vista is crap,so install the new version from the link above and all things will be right.

make sure you are using windows live messenger, the latest version of msn.
Since Vista is microsoft and so is msn it should work just fine.

try downloading the latest version, and uninstall the old version, that should clear up all your problems
