Do you think the sailors would have been captured?
I think not! Do You?

The point i was trying to make was the maternal nature of a female makes them far more ferrocious than males and as displayed by Margret Thatcher when America asked her not to go to war with Argentina i would think a female Captain would have made more of an argument when given orders not to respond to Irans Hostilities!
Besides! Guys, can you ever say no to a woman and win?

It would make no difference, as long as the female would have doing her job correctly as the male captain was. Besides women can't drive what makes you think a women could be in charge of a vessel such as the HMS Cornwall. (sexist remark only because your question is very sexist)

This is a silly question. The Rules of Engagement would have restrained a Male, Female or a Yorkie if in command. The fact is the crew-members were left out in the cold.

I think this is one of the silliest questions of the day, actually.

The sex of the captain has ZERO to do with what may or may not have happened, considering that both of them would have been trained the exact same way. Besides, the sex of the captain had nothing to do with the circumstances of the incident - there was NOTHING that anyone could have done, regardless of sex, to prevent the capture.

Why should it have made any difference? The task was the same, the cargo vessel was in the same place the same actions were required. If the Iranians had known that the frigate was commanded by a woman they may have tried to take that.

Silly question. The Captain, male or female had instructions on how to act in this situation, it would have made no difference to the outcome.

Boll0cks, it wouldnt make a difference, just becuase something has gone wrong under the charge of a male you women think you can do better jobs.

If you think you can do better go do it

And i have said no to a woman and won.

Not quite the answer to your question. Now the crew have been captured illegally I believe if they are not released soon, an elite force ( S.A.S. ) should be sent in to free them.
Note:
I don't believe British troops should be in Iraq either. That's also illegal.

probably not, men take everything for granted opposed to women, that in itself could have led to the capture of the sailors.

No they would not because she would still be trying to reverse out of the dock without hitting something.
