If you hate everything that the American government does, why not go live in another country? I understand the the governemnt isn't always going to make everyone happy, but then there are those people who will not be happy with anything. We live in a free country, you are free to leave at any time. Just remember, all those troops that you bash won't be there to keep you safe and free.

I was reading all of the responses, and I respect all of your views. I think some took the point I was trying to mak the wrong way but that's ok..I do have one other question though....Did everyone who is unhappy with the government vote in the last presidential election? what about local elections?

What's amazing to me is that Moore has gone on record last election saying that if President Bush won, he would run to France. If he and all the people that agreed with him actually did, we wouldn't have had the Oscars.
If i was in congress, i would be pushing for a bill that all the people who said they would run to France would get a one-time ticket and have their visas revoked. They get our hopes up that they'll leave, but then they just stay and complain some more....
I think the best stupid celebrity quote was from the Dixie Chicks ~ "What does being patriotic have to do with being American?" i think they speak for all of them.

Personally, I don't hate everything about America. In fact, I invite a foreign student to come and experience this country each year!
One reason I do that is so that they can distinguish the DIFFERENCE between the American government and the American people.
It is not just our right, but our DUTY as Americans to speak out when we disagree with our government. That is the DUTY that the First Amendment of the Constitution imposes on us all.
What? You didn't realize that free speech was a DUTY? Think again. With every right comes the responsibility to USE that right!
And, I might also point out with your lovely little twist in logic, speaking out against our government does NOT equate with "bashing troops." Quite the contrary.
When I speak out against the stupid decisions made by our top government officials, I do it to support the troops! The vast majority of them are serving honorably and doing their duty. They deserve our respect and certainly have mine.
However, I do NOT believe that George Bush is making the correct decisions. I feel that our personal liberties have been quickly eroding under his administration and, because of the first amendment, I have the DUTY to say so.
Leave? Hell no!

I often had questioned the same thing. Why do they stay? Is it because we are one of the very few countries that allows people to have freedom of speech? Is it because they have nothing else in there lives and they want everybody to be miserable? Is it because they just think that bashing America will make them look cool? But cool to who?
Maybe they can't afford to live anywhere else? These are questions that will probably never get answered. For some reason these people have to have something to ***** about. They can only see negative in their minds. I don't hate such people...I just pity them. They really should go live in a country where they can't say bad things about the government.
I want to tell these people, that things will not change in the next election. They really never do. It will take years and years and years to see the changes they want. All politicians say what they want to hear...they just never do what they say.
Great question by the way...

I don't hate America, nor do I hate everything the American government does. If I hated America, I wouldn't live here (I've had plenty enough opportunities to emigrate), nor would I bother to participate in voting to change the policies I disagree with. The only government that makes everybody happy is a government of one; everybody for himself.
Yes, there is free speech and free assembly (among others), for which I am grateful to live in a country where I can enjoy these basic freedoms. But what's the point of having soldiers die for your rights if you never use them?

Free country? and your freedom has no value, you find it has a price. This "Free Country," is just a label for everyone to follow. Food shouldent be priced, it should be free because we depend on it or die. Land isnt free either and the dirt you pick off the ground is a part of earth not a part of property. There is absolutely no democracy in the workplace. The media is'nt controled by the public. Peace is resolved militarily, and if you dont comply you die. Our Nation has fences and walls around the south border to prevent "migrants" from coming into this so called "free" country. The government has takin away our privacy throught the patriot act. So as you sit there with one thumb up your A55 feeding off the sweat of the lower class, take your eyes out of your F**king head and look at the reality we live in because the government got your brain. You say we live in a free country, yet you dont really give a S**t. As long as you live comfortably with your pretty little Paris Hilton purse you dont care. You dont know what freedom really stands for, your just another follower not a leader.
And to all the people above and below me. Left wing and right wing, no matter what you choose they still govern you. Just follow the invisable ink on the constitution like good little sheep.
Blah blah blah go live in another country because this one is free. The people who hate the government are doing it out of reason. Did you ever consider that these people are fighting for something good. Yeah and I bet you would love to see me move out of the country huh? just vanish right? Shows you dont give a S**t about people. Your way of solving problems is to just forget about it and follow whatever is to come, but when your affected by something you would rather pu55y out then fight for whats right.
look at Martin Luther king jr
look at Rosa parks
look at Ghandi
look at Susan B. Anthony
They were all fighters and Im going to do the same then move to another country.

If the American government hates the American people so much they should just dissolve the current populace and elect a new one.

Get a clue, disagreeing with Bush is not the same thing as hating America.
The reality is, obviously, that the presence of our troops in Iraq is NOT making us safe or keeping us free. The troops were sent there, and are doing the best job they can, but that doesn't mean sending them there was the right decision.
A few years ago, many of the same people who are now Bush supporters "hated everything that the American government does", when Clinton was President. Should they
have left the country because they disagreed with the President?
If Hillary becomes President and you strongly disagree with most of the things she does, are you going to be on the first plane out of the country?

Where else would they go? They know that they won't survive in another country being that some countries don't believe in the U.S. policies. Half of these people who ***** only know one language and know what freedom is. If they go to a different country they wouldn't fit in. What other country out there has a similar life-style as the U.S. other than Canada and U.K., just to name a couple.

Because we stand up for what be believe and we try to curtail our government's illegal actions doesn't mean we hate America! In Fact, it means exactly the opposite. Because we are willing to stand up and be counted for our country and are intensely loyal to the USA, we ensure that illegal acts are exposed and that we try to keep our checks and balances within our government and judiciary. I don't see people troop bashing -- they are bashing an Administration that has failed to do its job -- the job that is first and foremost on its duty list -- to protect our borders from all enemies, foreign and domestic. 9/11/01 and 12-20 million illegal immigrant lawbreakers and those who hire, harbor and help them, prove that our government has not only failed to protect us but has committed treason by causing American Citizens to lose rights and privileges while promoting the continuation of illegal immigration and promoting guest worker programs. It's our government that hates the law-abiding U.S. Citizens and it's our government that should leave and pay the price. We should demand that no government employee gets a salary until they can prove that they have done their job -- that means we have fewer than 100,000 illegal immigrants in the country within 4 months and that those who hire, harbor and help them are prosecuted and forced to wear GPS bracelets or rice chips and be on reporting probation as they pay their fines on a weekly basis.

They stay here because they cannot find another country in the world that offers a better way of life and still oppose everything about it. I agree with you. What happen to the Hollywood "Stars" who vowed to leave this country if Bush was elected and re-elected? Still here because they have it too good here. I agree with you entirely. Don't like it?? Leave!!!
