i am going to my friend's wedding in may and she and her fiancee are registered at places that i cannot afford. what should i get them for their wedding? i bought a really fancy picture frame that "symbolizes" their special day (has mini wedding bells and a little bouquet attached to it). it was about $30. is that okay? my friend knows that i am in school full-time (college) and work part-time and don't get paid to much.

If she is truly your friend then she understands that your income is limited right now. She will be happy with anything you get her as it comes from the heart. If she is anything like any of my friends, just being there with her would be the greatest gift.

I think the picture frame sounds really nice. It's nice to have a nice frame they can put a wedding picture to sit out. I'd say it's an excellent choice.

If it looks fancy and is beautifully wrapped, yes. You can pull it off.

However

If she is having a fancy wedding and the catering per plate will exceed the 30 dollars or of you are bringing a date, then you should add a little something extra so you donlt come across as rude and cheap.

Good luck

The photo frame sounds lovely. Why not include a $20 gift certificate to a department store?

Please, no gag gifts.

if they aren't ok with it then that is their issue. if they know what kind of finances you are dealing with then they will be happy that you could make it and did what you could. it's not about the presents.. it's about your prescence there.

That is definately okay. Or you can choose little small gag gifts. Like huge underwear, or brain teaser games,
