i got a "copycat recipe" for otis spunkmeyer banana nut muffins from a website and it called for banana cake mix .. does anyone know if that is available at any stores? i checked wal-mart but could not find it .. any suggestions would be appreciated.

My banana cake mix is like this:
1 package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 or 3 teaspoons cinnamon
2 mashed, ripe bananas

I see it occasionally on shelves in some of the smaller groceries. Have you considered adding 3 mashed, very ripe bananas to yellow cake mix? I don't use the banana cake mix because i think it leaves an aftertaste, but I do add the banana to the yellow cake mix. Turns out wonderful. Also, consider adding chopped candied walnuts....yum!
